“What Are You Doing for Others?”
January 21, 2013
WHAT IS IT?
In 1994, Congress made the Martin Luther King Jr. federal holiday an official day of service, thus MLK Day of Service was born. This day allows for people all across the United States to honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. through service! Since 2002, Athens-Clarke County has joined in this effort to create a better America in honor of the man who made that his life goal. HandsOn NEGA is excited to be spearheading this day of service for the 11th year. Last year we had 35 sites and over 1,000 volunteers and we are looking forward to an even more successful day this year!
